The European Commission will be organizing an EU-India workshop on Artificial Intelligence on the 21^st of January.
The first part of the workshop is dedicated to Excellence & Research and is aimed at establishing a first contact between EU and Indian research ecosystems. The workshop will present the EU networks of excellence centres and relevant Indian centres of excellence. In that respect TAILOR members have been invited to represent European Excellence in AI and will be represented by Prof. Barry O’Sullivan, director of the Insight Centre for Data Analytics at the University of Cork.
In this workshop there will be several topics to be discussed:
- the expected objectives of possible EU-India research collaboration, focusing on actions with mutual benefit and reciprocity and concrete impact
- a number of topics to prioritise; this could possibly go beyond research aspects proper and include other related topics, such as education and skills, standardisation, etc.
- the forms of cooperation and practical arrangements for cooperation – e.g. matchmaking events, workshops, sharing and comparing approaches and results, exchanges of best practice.
